NSSLHA stands for The National Student Speech Language Hearing Association and is a pre-professional membership association for both graduate and undergraduate students interested in the study of Communication Sciences and Disorders. NSSLHA provides members with opportunities to get acquainted with other students and faculty, explore professional issues, and perform community service.
why join nsslha?
All ISU students studying Communication Sciences & Disorders are welcomed and encouraged to join NSSLHA! It is a Registered Student Organization and has great opportunities all throughout the year to meet new friends, make connections, and be involved within the major. Our core values as a chapter are leadership, collaboration, integrity, service, diversity, and education. Both Illinois State and National NSSLHA want to give our members the tools, opportunities, benefits, resources, and confidence to succeed in their CSD journey!
how to join nsslha
Just attend two of the four meetings per semester, where we often have a public speaker, discuss upcoming events, and volunteer opportunities. We also have a small membership fee, and six required volunteer hours which are submitted and recorded through a Google Form accessible on this site. Be sure to join our GroupMe group chat and keep up with our social media posts to stay in the loop! We also send out a monthly NSSLHA newsletter for all members to learn more about the major, faculty, and students. Feel free to reach out to any of our officers or advisors for any questions about the chapter, organization, major, etc.
